Having watched Tiger Moms of every nationality raise children, and having seen children wilt by the time they start high school, I’m convinced that extreme parenting of any kind is not only bad but is damaging. Sure you might be lucky and end up with a chess champion or a Tiger Woods but at what price? The racehorse mentality that is spilling over into parenting where children become accessories and trophies to a parent’s ego goes way beyond what is attentive, caring parenting.
