I like your attitude, Hermes. I think the intent matters and some people ask me where I’m from for the wrong reasons. Or the timing is wrong (as when I’m in the middle of a conversation about something totally unrelated). But I am glad you never had to experience your accent being used as a stereotypical reinforcer or that it doesn’t bother you when you do encounter it. You are lucky! Does it keep me up at night? No, it’s just a reflection on the human condition and the way I respond to it. And you are right, maybe it would do me good to look at my own reaction to it. Thanks for commenting.
