My mom passed away two years ago and all I have are her recipes and my memories of her in the kitchen. Her I love yous showed up in the form of Swedish cinnamon buns, her I'm tireds showed up as Swedish blood pudding. And in between, we used cooking conversations as our way to bond. It was our go-to topic. Thanks for this perspective. So sad in a way but also a great opportunity to start from scratch. Too many of my family recipes are sprinkled with psychological issues.
