We have lost more than 30 pets on our street alone to coyotes. They jump electric fences and kill goats, large dogs, cats, chickens and they are barking at our horses at night. They have attacked dogs in backyards five feet away from the owners and in the middle of the day. It’s a problem. And hazing does not work. If it did they would stay away. And they don’t.

For those of us who love our pets and wish for them to be able to run free in our triple fenced-in backyards, the coyote is still a constant worry. So we have to infringe on the rights of our pets because we have failed to curtail the coyote population in our area.

I love all animals but I love my pets more than I love those animals who, on a daily basis, try to harm them.
